The conference will be held over 4 days, beginning with registration followed by the 1st session at 2 pm on Monday, the 21st of March 2011.

Scientific and technical presentations will be held from Monday afternoon, 2 pm, to Thursday noon, the 24th. Poster presentations are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. There will be an off-site event including dinner on Tuesday afternoon.

Venue

The 7th HIC/RPC Bioseparation Conference will be held in Estoril near Lisbon, Portugal. The conference venue will be the Hotel Palacio do Estoril.

Lisbon is unique in that it is among the very few European capitals to feature a river as well as a coastline. Lisbon has a rich and fascinating history. Estoril is on a stretch of coastline called the Portuguese Riviera. The average high temperature in March is about 18 °C, average low about 10 °C.

Reaching Lisbon

Lisbon Airport is easy to get to. It is a short flight away from most European cities and 6/8 hours from North America. Lisbon International Airport (approximately 20 km from Estoril) has daily flights to and from the major cities in the world. Besides the Portuguese airline, TAP, all the major international airlines fly to and from Lisbon. This links Lisbon to numerous European cities and also to the United States and Brazil.

By Taxi

There are two taxi stands within the perimeter of the airport, one at arrivals and the other at departures. If you decide to take a taxi, it is suggested that you obtain prior information about the prices.
Regular taxis (approximately €25):

The fare on the taxi meter should read €2.35 (daytime pick-up) or €2.50 (night time pick-up). Outside the city limits, fare rates must be calculated based on the number of kilometers travelled and the established price per kilometer. The transport of baggage or animals incurs a surcharge of €1.60.

Note: An additional 20% is charged for services on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and for night service from the hours of 21:00 to 06:00.

Taxi vouchers (day and night fees) are available at the Tourism Information Counter in the atrium of the Arrivals Hall. Day price (6.00am to 9.00pm) is 44.18€, night price (9.00pm to 6.00am) is 53€

By Public Transport

There is a direct train from Cais do Sodré Train Station to Estoril City. To get to Cais do Sodré Train Station you may either take a taxi or you can take the AEROBUS, running every 20 minutes from 7:00 to 23:00.
